Release Date: August, 2008
Improvements (5.4.4)
- The PostgreSQL database now maintains its tables associated with "Top" reports in a more
efficient manner. The stored data is reduced and trimmed on a more regular basis, eliminating
the excessive database growth that some administrators had experienced. (DEF19189, DEF23184)
- When you update or upgrade your PureMessage
installation, Sophos now receives information in its logs indicating the hostname of the server
that downloaded the data. This information can be useful to our Support staff if an issue
should arise. (SUG20238)
- Since some mail systems reject messages that do not contain a Message-ID header, PureMessage now creates a Message-ID header any time a message
is modified by the mail transfer agent. (DEF22880)
- Improvements to the way that PureMessage handles
synchronization of policy lists have rendered the pmx-enduser-list scheduled
job obsolete. This job no longer appears on the Local Services page of the
PureMessage Manager, and it cannot be run from the
command line. (DEF20819)
- The text boxes used to specify query parameters on the Manage
Quarantine page of the PureMessage Manager
now accept apostrophes and backslashes as valid punctuation. (DEF11625)
Resolved Issues (5.4.4)
- The Groups Web Interface text boxes that are used to search the logs and quarantine did not
provide adequate validation. This has been fixed. (DEF23225)
- Previously, it took a long time to forward a message to user accounts through the Groups Web
Interface if the message had a large attachment (for example, 5 MB or larger). This has been
fixed. (DEF09603)
- The Message Details dialog box in the Groups Web Interface sometimes
incorrectly displayed mail log entries that were unrelated to the message in question if the
entries referred to blocked connections. This has been fixed. (DEF24143)
- In cases where the logs contained large amounts of data, queries launched from the Groups
Web Interface would occasionally time out before all of the data had been searched. This has
been fixed. (DEF20240)
- Previously, it was possible to select an option to view only "Inbound" or "Outbound" messages
for the Policy Mark Hits report in the Groups Web Interface. This was not applicable because
this report does not distinguish between inbound and outbound messages. The option has been
removed. (DEF24021)
- The Policy Mark Hits report in the Groups Web Interface only displayed results for the top
20 policy marks. This was not appropriate for administrators using more than 20 marks and has
been fixed. (DEF23033)
