Release Date: December, 2008
Improvements (5.5.1)
- PureMessage now supports Java Systems Messaging
Server (JSMS) version 6.3 (if patched to include milter support) and version 7. In order to use
either of these JSMS versions with PureMessage, you must configure JSMS to communicate directly
with the PureMessage milter. For instructions, see “Configuring PureMessage for Java Systems
Messaging Server (JSMS)” in the Knowledgebase on the Sophos website.
- In accordance with RFC 2822, the default behavior of PureMessage is to alter a Message-ID
header whenever any of the message parts have changed. However, if your organization finds it
necessary to treat Message-ID headers differently, you can edit
/opt/pmx/etc/pmx.conf to alter the default behavior. For more information,
see
preserve_msgid
and preserve_msgid_hdr_change
in the
pmx.conf man page. It is recommended that you consult with support before
applying either of these options. (SUG28350, DEF29497)
- Although Sophos has always advised that version upgrades be performed as the root user, it
was previously possible to perform a partial upgrade as the PureMessage user ('pmx' by default). An error message is now
displayed if you attempt to upgrade packages or uninstall components while logged in as any
user other than root. (DEF29839)
Resolved Issues (5.5.1)
- Previously, PureMessage was disregarding the port
defined in the
mail_sender
setting in pmx.conf if it was
set to anything other than 25. As a result, some support requests sent via the PureMessage Manager could not be submitted. Requests are now
sent regardless of the port setting. (DEF27056)
- Prior to this release, policy rules designed to delete all "Received" headers from email
messages did not work as expected for users of Postfix; only some of the headers were removed.
All Received headers are now removed. (DEF23752)
